FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)

Does the Numbing Cream or Final Mile Gel affect the healing process?

No, our products were formulated with healing and overall health in mind. After the final formulas were developed, they were tested for one year with no adverse effect on healing observed.

Why does my skin turn red/pink after application?

This is normal and does not affect the texture, elasticity, or health of the skin where the tattoo or procedure is to be performed. It is a natural histamine process that some users of lidocaine experience. Approximately 1 in 10 users will experience red/pink skin and mild swelling after lidocaine application.

What do I do if there is severe swelling or drastic discoloration?

Discontinue use and seek medical attention immediately. It is incredibly rare that a person will have a severe reaction to lidocaine, but it does happen. Usually in combination with other health/immune system disorders. You can do a dab test to make sure that this will not happen to you during a tattoo or procedure.

What is a dab test?

A dab test is performed by taking a small amount of numbing cream or Final Mile Gel and applying it to an inconspicuous area of the skin (thigh or ankle in the usual choice), cover with plastic wrap or bandage and leave on for 5-15 minutes, then check the area. If your skin is severely swollen or discolored, discontinue use of the product. Seek medical attention for severe cases. If it looks and feels normal, then the product is safe for you to use.

Why do I have to leave the numbing cream on for two hours?

We have found that two hours of application is the sweet spot for maximum numbing. Any less and the numbing will not last as long. Leaving it on longer is fine, but you will not achieve a longer numbing effect.

What is the difference between the Numbing Cream and the Final Mile Gel?

Numbing Cream is for use 1-2 hours before the tattoo/procedure begins and will last for hours. Final Mile Gel is used during the tattoo/procedure (apply and cover for 12 minutes after the skin is broken) and will last 20-40 minutes.
